Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.As a Motor Grade, you will be responsible for:* Operating primarily a Motor Grader and other heavy equipment used in a landfill.* Performing pre-shift safety inspections on the vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories.* Performing routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and referring defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.* Utilizing automatic grade control systems and/or GPS, where applicable.* Monitoring all engine gauges.* Scraping, shaping, blading, and leveling for various grades.* Operating to fine-grade specifications, including shoulders and slopes.* Reading, interpreting, and executing plan requirements and grade standards.* Maintaining good housekeeping of equipment.* Assisting in maintenance and repairs if needed.* Assisting with the operation of other equipment as needed.* Conducting all business activities in accordance with health and safety policies and legal compliance requirements and bringing problems to the attention of the supervisor, superintendent, and/or HSE.**Qualifications & Requirements:*** Must have a high school diploma or GED.* A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.* A minimum of 1 year of related experience is required. 2 years of experience is preferred.* Experience operating one or more of the following: + Motor Grader + Dozer* Live in Orla, TX, or within a 60-mile radius from Orla, TX, required. + Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.**Working Conditions/Environment:*** Operates in a field environment. + May be subject to environments that are extreme in nature, such as heat, cold, etc. + The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: - Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods. - Walking on uneven and vegetated terrain. - Working at heights up to 35 feet as needed. - Climbing steps at a 45-degree angle up to 35 feet. - Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. - The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed.
