Job Title: Industrial Solid Waste Technician Job Description
The Industrial Solid Waste Technician manages the collection, segregation, labeling, organization, and staging of solid waste materials throughout a large manufacturing facility. This role focuses on maintaining safe, compliant, and well-organized waste-handling processes rather than traditional trash collection. The technician works across the facility to ensure industrial waste containers are properly separated, sealed, labeled, and staged for removal, while helping to develop and document a consistent, efficient waste-management system.
You will work in a stable, full-time role with a consistent daytime schedule that supports work-life balance. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of processes, contribute to environmental and safety practices, and help shape a more efficient waste-management system. You will collaborate with multiple departments, develop practical skills in industrial operations, and gain experience in environmental and safety-focused work in a modern manufacturing setting.
This role is based in a large manufacturing facility and involves frequent walking throughout the plant to inspect and manage waste collection areas. The schedule is Monday through Friday on first shift, typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for a 40-hour workweek. The position requires working in industrial areas around machinery and equipment, handling containers of solid non-hazardous industrial waste such as oily rags and scrap metal. The technician uses forklifts and basic material-handling equipment to move containers and waste materials and works in designated waste-storage locations that must be kept clean, safe, and organized. Appropriate industrial work attire and safety gear are required in accordance with facility safety procedures.
