Job summary

City of Kingman is seeking a Solid Waste Operator to join the Public Works - Solid Waste Division. You will operate heavy-duty collection trucks, perform inspections, and provide courteous service to residents while working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class B CDL, maintain a clean driving record, and be safety-minded and able to work independently within a team. Training may include NIMS certifications as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License at a minimum level of Class B.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• NIMS training certifications may be required based on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate (60%) Safely drive and operate solid waste collection trucks and equipment to collect and transport refuse and recyclables in residential and commercial areas.
• Inspect & Maintain (20%) Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections; fuel, clean, and perform routine maintenance; report repairs.
• Customer Service (10%) Provide professional, courteous service to residents and businesses; ensure containers are emptied and areas left clean.
• Support (10%) Assist other drivers and crews; respond to spills or emergencies; participate in special assignments to meet service demands.
