Job summary

The City of Chandler is seeking qualified individuals for full-time Solid Waste Technician roles. Duties include inspecting solid waste for compliance and operating drop-off sites and household hazardous waste facilities, outdoors in Arizona weather. CDL not required, but heavy machinery experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of field inspections and public interaction experience.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Reach and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of solid waste to ensure compliance at landfill and field sites.
• Operate residential drop-off site and household hazardous waste facilities.
• Work outdoors; prior heavy machinery experience is preferred.
