Job summary

City of Boynton Beach is seeking Equipment Operator Trainee to support Solid Waste operations. The role includes manual labor tasks and eligibility to operate a variety of trucks and equipment used for garbage collection and recycling processes in the City.

Available positions require a Florida CDL, completion of OSHA 30, and obtaining a Florida CPL within six months. Training leads to Equipment Operator I/II/III levels with progressive responsibilities.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of previous experience involving any area of manual labor, construction, equipment operation, solid waste, or closely related area.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license; and
• Must obtain a Florida CPL within six (6) months in position.
• Must obtain the OSHA 30 - Hour General Industry Card within six (6) months in position.

Responsibilities

• Rolls carts out to and from delivery truck and operates solid waste equipment as required.
• Inspects and safely operates equipment and vehicles.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and adheres to safety guidelines.
