Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering program.
• Prior internship and/or related engineering and construction inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate in face-to-face interactions and by email.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to write daily reports.
• Ability to use Excel Spreadsheets to prepare calculations and analyze data.
• Possession of sufficient physical stamina to work outdoors under various field conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support in-office and field activities related to solid waste landfills and transfer station facilities.
• Tabulate laboratory and field test data; compile technical reports.
• Assist in stormwater management system design and landfill gas collection system design.
• Field activities include Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) tasks: monitoring and documenting landfill cell, cap, and gas collection system construction; use of equipment for monitoring landfill emissions.
• Interact with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors.
