City of Auburn, AL is seeking a Solid Waste Enforcement Officer to uphold the city’s waste ordinances and report to the Solid Waste Division Manager. The role involves patrolling routes, identifying code and regulatory violations, and performing related duties.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience, and a valid driver’s license. This Regular Full‑Time position requires attention to detail and commitment to public service.

This position is responsible for enforcing provisions of the City’s Solid Waste Ordinance. This position reports to the Solid Waste Division Manager.

High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The work is medium work, which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or walking. The employee utilizes sense of smell.
The work is typically performed in various indoor and outdoor environments. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold or inclement weather. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
