Job summary

City of Little Rock is seeking a Compliance/Code Enforcement Officer to monitor solid waste collection activities and ensure compliance with the Solid Waste Ordinance and contract terms. Candidates typically have two years of college in Business Administration or Public Administration and two years of experience in solid waste collection or codes enforcement; equivalent combinations will be considered.

Additional requirements include an Arkansas Driver's License (Class D) and DEQ licenses

Job description

JOB OBJECTIVE: To monitor solid waste collection activities to ensure compliance with the Solid Waste Ordinance and contract terms.

This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of two (2) years of college course work in Business Administration; Public Administration, or a related area; and two (2) years of experience in solid waste collection or codes enforcement. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
• Must possess Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) 1A License within one (1) year of employment; must acquire Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) 1B License within one (1) year of acquiring non-renewable 1A License; must acquire Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) 1C License within one (1) year of acquiring 1B License; must maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
• Must possess Citation Authority Certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
