Job summary

UC Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide basic direct patient care under supervision and to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and visitors.

You will perform vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, gather specimens, and help with patient transport while communicating clearly with RNs and other team members. This role supports compassionate, patient-centered care across units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification and patient care training (AHA CPR).
• State Tested Nursing Aide Training or Acute Medical/Surgical Training; OR an RN student in rotation.
• If no prior requirements, UC Health PCA competency training and orientation will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population appropriate communication and patient education.
• Gathers vital signs and reports changes to RN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Performs basic treatments and helps with specimen collection as directed.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and communicates care plans to the team.
