Job summary

Efficient Computer is seeking an IT & Security Manager to own IT end to end across a multi-site startup. You will be the sole IT member, bridging daily operations with leadership on security posture and compliance roadmap, while supporting a fast-growing workforce.

This is not a junior role. You will design and run systems, policies, and controls enabling secure work in defense-adjacent contexts, implement scalable processes, and plan for an expanding IT team as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive IT experience, including startup ownership.
• Hands-on depth with MDM platforms across macOS and Windows.
• Strong experience administering SSO and identity providers.
• Experience with SCIM provisioning and deprovisioning.
• Experience deploying RADIUS servers for network authentication.
• Knowledge of CMMC/NIST SP 800-171 or comparable defense IT frameworks.
• Solid grounding in security operations: endpoint protection, email security, incident response.
• Clear written communication and ability to explain security tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day IT operations across all sites.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding and access reviews.
• Manage IT vendors, licensing, and renewals.
• Define security policies and run incident response playbooks.
• Develop AI tooling governance and cost controls.
• Lay groundwork for future IT team and scalable processes.
• Travel ~25% between offices.
