Job summary

OPUS IVS INC is seeking a Solderer II to support the Production & Repair team in PCB assembly, rework and modifications. You will work under the Production Team Leader and perform surface-mount soldering, ensure bond integrity, and interpret schematics.

The role requires 2+ years of electronics soldering, J-STD-001 knowledge, and ability to use soldering equipment and power tools. Overtime may be required as part of manufacturing needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two (2) years of electronics soldering.
• Thru-hole soldering experience.
• J-STD-001 assembly standard understanding.
• Experience with safe operation of power hand tools and soldering equipment.

Responsibilities

• Primarily uses surface-mount (SMD) technology to produce electronic circuits with components mounted on PCB surface.
• Ensure workable bond to guarantee proper connection.
• Work from schematics and identify electrical symbols.
• Make precise welds to connect wires to chips or other components.
• Use correct hand tools to perform precision repairs or to operate and calibrate soldering machinery.
• May solder broken parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

The Solderer II will provide support for the Production’s Repair & Analysis Team and its associated operations. This position is responsible for supporting OPUS IVS production by PCB assembly, rework, and modifications as required. This role will take the direction and work with the Production Team Leader over this group.

Responsibilities:

• Primarily uses surface-mount (SMD) technology to produce electronic circuits in which the components are mounted directly onto the surface of the PCBS
• Responsible for ensuring workable bond to ensure connection
• Must be able to work from schematics/identify electrical symbols
• Accountable for precise welds to connect wire to computer chips or other components
• Accountable to using the correct hand tools to make precision repairs or operate and calibrate soldering machinery
• May solder broken parts
• Other duties as assigned
