Job summary

TT Electronics in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated team member to solder and inspect electronic components and assemblies in accordance with established specifications and quality standards. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and solder electronic components to meet workmanship standards.
  • Solder electronics assemblies using proper tools and techniques for various components.
  • Ensure polarity and orientation requirements are correct when installing components.
  • Use solder, flux, and soldering tips appropriately.
  • Identify work orders, assembly numbers, and revisions from instructions.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process audits.
  • Use measuring tools to verify dimensional requirements.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming material (NCM).
  • Follow handling precautions for process chemicals and materials.
  • Operate torque wrenches and set up torque settings.
  • Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction: Responsible for soldering and inspection of electronic components and assemblies for conformance to established specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • assemble and solder electronic components to meet customer and industry workmanship standards
  • solder electronics assemblies by using proper tools and techniques for various types of electronic components
  • ensure polarity and orientation requirements are met when installing components
  • use solder and solder equipment identifying correct solder, flux and solder iron tips
  • utilize proper technique for clinching and trimming leads,
  • use proper handling techniques to ensure reliability and avoid damaging components and assemblies
  • utilize manufacturing instructions to ensure acceptable quality results
  • identify work order, assembly number, and revision level of assembly from manufacturing instructions
  • follow requirements for 1st piece inspections and in-process audits
  • ensure proper dimensional requirements with appropriate measuring tools when required
  • identify and segregate non-conforming material (NCM)
  • utilize proper handling precautions when working with process chemicals and materials
  • review shelf life of materials prior to usage (when applicable)
  • use proper application techniques of thermal compound, hot melt glue/RTV, Loctite, etc.
  • set up, log, and verify torque settings, and demonstrate proper use of torque wrenches
  • operate board de-panelizer
  • perform general area/equipment/machine cleaning
  • other duties may be assigned as needed.

Training requirements: Team members will be required to attend various training classes to ensure adequate knowledge of company specific information, customer, regulatory, and other requirements as determined by job process, Standard operating procedures or other elements as required.

Physical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by Team Member to successfully perform of the essential functions of this job.

Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Constantly finger, grasp, hear, do repetitive motions 90-100% of the time; frequently reach, 60-90% of the time; Occasionally stoop, stand, push, pull, lift, talk 30-60%

Visual Acuity: The Team member is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities for operation of machines, including visual inspection, using measurement devices; and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes. Ability or increased ability to see color, or perceive color differences, under normal lighting conditions.

Work Environment: The Team member is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not room temperature changes, there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to increase volume in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The Team Member is constantly exposed to high heat and chemicals and is required to wear safety glasses (90-100%).

Safety is a core responsibility of this position. Team members are expected to perform all job duties in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and established procedures. This includes wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), participating in safety training, immediately reporting unsafe conditions or incidents, and stopping work when unsafe conditions exist. All employees are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and for actively contributing to the prevention of workplace injuries and accidents.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

The Team Member is required to work overtime on as needed.
