Job summary

TT Electronics is seeking a team member for 100% onsite soldering and assembly in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. You will operate solder machines and hand solder equipment, interpret manufacturing instructions, and assemble electronic components to meet industry workmanship standards.

The role requires IPC/J-STD-001 certification, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with process chemicals and tools. ITAR-required U.S. citizenship is noted, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified in J Standard and IPC.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities and wear PPE as required.
  • U.S. citizen and able to work 100% onsite in Ohio per ITAR rules.

Responsibilities

  • Operate solder machines and hand solder equipment to meet customer product requirements.
  • Identify assembly numbers and revisions from manufacturing instructions.
  • Assemble electronic components to meet workmanship standards.
  • Follow safety and handling procedures for chemicals and materials.
  • Perform basic cleaning and upkeep of solder stations and work area.
  • Complete machine adjustments per instructions and SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot normal machine function and report issues.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

Responsible for loading materials into machines for production, adjusting machine speeds during production and inspecting the objects produced.

Key Responsibilities: include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • operate select solder machines and hand solder equipment to meet customer product requirements
  • understand selective soldering process and effectively communicate problems or issues
  • identify work order, assembly number, and revision level of assembly from manufacturing instructions
  • assemble electronic components to meet customer and industry workmanship standards
  • utilize proper technique for clinching and trimming leads,
  • proper material handling techniques to ensure component reliability and to avoid damaging components and assemblies
  • set-up, verify, and use tools and equipment in area, and is certified when required on machines in area
  • set up, log, verify settings and use of torque wrenches
  • review shelf life of materials prior to usage (when applicable)
  • follow requirements for 1st piece inspections and in-process audits
  • operate board de-panelizer
  • utilize proper handling precautions when working with process chemicals and materials
  • measure height requirements with appropriate measuring tools when required
  • use proper application techniques of thermal compound, hot melt glue/RTV, etc.
  • use the appropriate method of requesting changes, corrections or clarification to a manufacturing instruction
  • identify and segregate non-conforming material (NCM)
  • perform basic cleaning/upkeep on solder stations
  • perform general area/equipment/machine cleaning
  • certify in IPC and J-STD-001 industry standard workmanship specifications for soldered electronic assemblies
  • complete machine adjustments per manufacturing instructions & SOP.
  • Perform troubleshooting for normal functioning.

  • Must be certified in J Standard and IPC.

Training requirements: Team members will be required to attend various training classes to ensure adequate knowledge of company specific information, customer, regulatory, and other requirements as determined by job process, Standard operating procedures or other elements as required.

Physical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by Team Member to successfully perform of the essential functions of this job.

Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Constantly finger, grasp, hear, do repetitive motions 90-100% of the time; frequently reach, 60-90% of the time; Occasionally stoop, stand, push, pull, lift, talk 30-60%

Visual Acuity: The Team member is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities for operation of machines, including visual inspection, using measurement devices; and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes. Ability or increased ability to see color, or perceive color differences, under normal lighting conditions.

Work Environment: The Team member is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not room temperature changes, there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to increase volume in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The Team Member is constantly exposed to high heat and chemicals and is required to safety glasses (90-100%).

Safety is a core responsibility of this position. Team members are expected to perform all job duties in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and established procedures. This includes wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), participating in safety training, immediately reporting unsafe conditions or incidents, and stopping work when unsafe conditions exist. All employees are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and for actively contributing to the prevention of workplace injuries and accidents.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

The Team Member is required to work overtime as needed.
