Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in Clarksburg, MD, is hiring a Solder Assembler for 1st shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm). The role reports to Manufacturing, with a 9/80 work schedule and competitive benefits including medical, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and generous leave;

candidates must be a U.S. citizen, able to lift 25 lbs, and have 2–4 years of relevant experience in electronic/SMD assemblies. IPC-A-610 proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; may be subject to government security investigation.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Fluent in English; excellent verbal and written communications.
• 2–4 years of equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with electronic assemblies and surface mount assemblies.
• Ability to solder on most products in the factory.
• Able to interpret IPC-A-610 standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365; SuccessFactors experience a plus.
• Must lift 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Adhere to company policies and embrace core values.

Responsibilities

• Follow printed work instructions.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams and building assembly drawings with MWI.
• Handle small precision tools and hardware.
• Sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, follow manufacturing guidelines.
• Interpret IPC-A-620 standards where applicable.
• Keep lead informed of assembly issues.
• Maintain a neat work area and follow FOD compliance.
• Responsible for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work.

Job Summary

We currently have an opening for a 1st Shift Solder Assembler in our Clarksburg, MD Campus. Solder Assemblers will report to the Manager of Manufacturing. First shift hours are 5:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Follow printed work instructions.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams and building assembly drawing along with MWI.
• Handle small precision tools, hardware, etc.
• Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
• Interpret IPC-A-620 standards, where applicable.
• Keep team lead informed of assembly issues.
• Maintain a neat appearance in their work area and follow FOD compliance.
• Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.

Salary & Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $22.58 - $28.87 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 3%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
