Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a technician to support manual building of solar panels in the finishing development center, and to operate a mix of processing equipment, manual steps, test equipment and metrology tools.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant technical experience in manufacturing or a lab, plus the ability to follow instructions and use basic tools. Applicants must follow safety procedures and observe work instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant technical experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions/test plans.
• Average ability to use tools and operating equipment is required (micrometers, multimeters, power supplies and data logger, and other process and test equipment).
• Possess the ability to learn to use JMP and SQL applications. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Ability to repetitively handle glass coupons, plates, and finished modules.
• Proven communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to ensure that all the tests are complete as per the schedule including sample acquiring, testing and data entry for all development tests.
• Communicate immediately any abnormal findings on the product or testing equipment.
• Able to execute assigned tasks. Responsible to assist in any other task or job assigned by supervisor.
• Consistently demonstrate efficient and effective methods to deliver quality test results.
• Works under daily supervision. Follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish routine tasks.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
