Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy in the United States is seeking a Solar Technician to support maintenance on our solar farms. You will perform basic maintenance, record activities in CMMS, and follow safety protocols to ensure reliable energy production.

This role requires teamwork with the Site Lead, on-the-job training, and ability to work in Indiana's weather conditions. Expect physical work and a path toward higher levels within the solar plant operations career path.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic maintenance on solar components.
• Experience with CMMS or similar maintenance tracking.
• Adherence to PPE, lockout/tagout, and safety procedures.
• Ability to document activities and provide solutions.

Essential Functions

• Routine Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on solar panels, inverters, racking, and tracking systems under supervision. Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Work Order Management: Accurately record all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work order creation, updates, and closure.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices to minimize risks.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing reports on maintenance activities, including documenting issues encountered, solutions implemented, and recommendations for future work.
• Learning & Development: Engage in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and knowledge in solar plant operations. Participate in company-provided training programs to advance to higher levels within the solar technician career path.
• Equipment Handling: Assist in handling and organizing tools, equipment, and materials required for maintenance tasks. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with higher-level technicians and the Site Lead to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Follow instructions and seek guidance when needed to ensure safe and accurate execution of work.
• Physical Work: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 50 lbs. Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
