Job summary

BlueWave in Boston, MA is seeking a Project Development Co-op to support solar and energy storage project development and permitting tasks. You will prepare presentations for community meetings, review interconnection applications, and assist with landowner communications.

The role requires currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, based in the Boston area, and a hybrid schedule with in-office presence at least three days a week.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Energy Systems, Urban Planning, Business or related field.
• Preference for candidates with at least one prior co-op or work experience in a related discipline.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support development of solar and energy storage project opportunities in MA.
• Represent BlueWave within the Project Development team and interact with engineers, landowners, permitting authorities and customers.
• Utilize document control, GIS tools and Salesforce to report project progress.
• Familiarize with project documentation, regulatory requirements, and milestones; monitor progress.
• Prepare internal and external documents and presentations.
• Provide quantitative analytical support for key development decisions.
• Assist in land-use, permitting and site control negotiations; attend meetings with local boards.
• Assist in early project diligence such as site design and financial modeling.
• Support Grid Integration team in managing utility interconnection processes.
