Job summary

Otovo in Staten Island, NY is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators across the New York City area.

The role requires 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service skills; you will use multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging, follow NEC guidelines, and travel locally to customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
