Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a PV Field Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for solar and battery energy storage systems. Based at the Red Tailed Hawk PV Solar Farm in the greater Houston area, the role focuses on troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of renewable assets.

Applicants should have a ABET-accredited degree and 3–5 years in utility-scale PV operations, with knowledge of SCADA platforms and tools like

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field from an ABET-accredited university.
3–5 years of experience in utility-scale PV operations with troubleshooting/diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of PV and BESS system components, SCADA platforms, and digital maintenance tools like Maximo.
OSHA 30 certification (or willing to obtain) and commitment to safety standards.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to North Texas PV sites.

Responsibilities

Lead or support troubleshooting of inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, and power stations; respond to faults or recurring failures.
Monitor performance data using SCADA, PI Vision; perform preventive maintenance and document tasks in Maximo or ETM.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring issues; participate in site inspections and thermographic scans; validate SCADA sensors during commissioning.
Train field technicians and manage warranty coordination with OEMs; enforce safety protocols via toolbox talks and incident response.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement and vendors for retrofits, standards, and component replacements.
