Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a PV Field Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for solar and battery energy storage systems at the Red Tailed Hawk PV Solar Farm near Houston. You will troubleshoot equipment, monitor performance, and conduct preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of our renewable assets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field, 3–5 years in utility-scale PV operations, OSHA 30 certification, strong

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field from ABET-accredited university.
• 3–5 years of experience in utility-scale PV operations with troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of PV and BESS components, SCADA platforms, and digital maintenance tools like Maximo/ETM.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain) and commitment to safety/compliance.
• Excellent communication skills, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel to North Texas PV sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support troubleshooting of inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, and power stations, addressing faults and failures.
• Monitor performance data with SCADA, PI Vision, and perform preventive maintenance with proper documentation in Maximo/ETM.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues; assist site inspections and thermographic scans; validate SCADA sensors during commissioning.
• Train field technicians; coordinate warranties with OEMs; enforce safety via toolbox talks and incident response.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and external vendors to support retrofits, standards, and component replacements.
