Job summary

ION Solar in Manassas, VA seeks a capable Site Survey Technician to perform roof-site surveys and document sites with company tools. You will communicate plans and timelines to homeowners, and coordinate closely with Ion Solar's scheduling team to keep projects on track.

The role requires roof access, basic roofing and electrical knowledge, and proficiency with Paycom, FieldPro, Salesforce and smartphones. A valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of roofing, construction terms and roof types.
• Fundamental understanding of residential electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a site survey using company tools.
• Document the site with a camera via company app.
• Explain processes and timelines clearly to customers.
• Maintain prompt communications with Ion Solar scheduling.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Conduct a site survey with company-provided tools and equipment.
• Document site with a camera using company app.
• Effectively and professionally communicate with the customer to inform them of your process and timeline.
• Prompt and regular communication with Ion Solar's scheduling team.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Ability to work on a residential roof.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Proficient math skills to calculate the number of materials needed.
• Ability to use ION technology, such as Paycom, FieldPro, Salesforce, and smartphones
• Must possess a valid Driver's License

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of roofing and construction: materials involved, roof types and terms, etc.
• Basic knowledge of residential electrical systems and associated vocabulary.

Driving Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work at heights.
• Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
• Must use earplugs around loud equipment and wear gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear.
