Job summary

STG Solar is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Aylett, VA to operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders and forklifts on utility-scale solar projects.

You will ensure safe, efficient operation, perform inspections and routine maintenance, and help prepare sites by clearing debris and leveling land.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of experience, and a valid heavy equipment operator license; strong safety and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid third-party heavy equipment operator license or certification.
• Experience with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and forklifts.
• Maneuver equipment to remove and place materials accurately.
• Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris and rocks.
• Level and grade land for solar installations.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections for optimal performance.
• Report mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Communicate with site supervisors and teammates to coordinate tasks.
• Assist in setup and dismantling of equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inspections.
