Job summary

American Solar & Roofing is seeking a Solar Service Technician in Phoenix, AZ to address issues on ground and roof, troubleshoot PV systems, and ensure safe, high-quality workmanship. You will diagnose, repair, and document field activities while coordinating with customer service and manufacturers.

Requirements include 2+ years PV installation experience, knowledge of NEC/IRC/IFC roofing codes, OSHA 10, and a clean driving record with a DoT Medical Card.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PV system installation experience.
• Thorough understanding of PV inverter troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of building codes (NEC, IRC, IFC, TRI, and roofing).
• Completion of OSHA 10 Hour Outreach Training Program for Construction.
• Clean Driving Record and DoT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain customer solar systems according to warranty and service agreements.
• Coordinate inverter warranty claims with manufacturers and communicate updates with Customer Service Representatives.
• Identify additional repair opportunities and recommend solutions while on-site.
• Provide exceptional customer service while promoting safety, quality, and workmanship standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly functioning vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Document field findings, system readings, photos, repairs, and service details in company systems.
• Inspect roofs for damage or wear that could impact solar system performance or roof integrity.
• Seal roof penetrations to prevent leaks and maintain system protection.
• Remove debris from rooftops and gutters as needed.

Solar Service Technician

Job Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $26-$30/hour

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Service Technician is to address potential and known issues as relayed by American Solar & Roofing’s commissioned customer base with a focus on timely and effective customer service. This position requires thorough understanding of PV system operation, electrical wiring experience and the ability to communicate project details to various stakeholders. This position requires work to be performed both on ground and on roof. Other essential skills include system troubleshooting, quality assurance and adherence to company safety standards and protocols.
