Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Senior Electrical Superintendent to lead field execution for large utility-scale solar projects across multiple states. You will direct the construction team, interface with owners, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while controlling schedules and budgets.

The role requires strong leadership of direct reports, collaboration with Project Management, and active involvement from pre-construction through project closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
• 5 years’ experience as General Superintendent on utility scale solar projects.
• Journeyman or master license (NASCLA or equivalent), or ability to obtain within 6 months after hire.
• STS-C Certification at a minimum, or ability to obtain within 6 months after hire.
• Experience with multiple direct reports and leading project teams is a necessity.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple utility scale solar projects.

• Support superintendents in owner discussions.
• Work with Project Management team for subcontracts.
• Support and mentor direct reports and manage performance reviews.
• Create, distribute, and enforce best practices for Electrical Field Operations.
• Project completion and closeout coordination.
• Creation and monitoring of safety initiatives.
• Help manage procurement and engineering schedule.
• Support Electrical Superintendents in creation of project schedules.
• Assist with scheduling shared resources.
• Assist managing subcontracted resources across portfolio.
• Coordinate with other departments for resource expectations (QC, commissioning, substation, etc.).
• Budget and schedule reporting.
• Supports Project Executive in project change discussions.
• Front end/design involvement.
• Oversees internal design review and coordination.
• Coordinate with Pre-Construction for site visits.
• Estimate upcoming projects.
• Interviewing and onboarding of new salaried personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's in construction management, engineering or related field

Position Scope and Organizational Impact

Moss' Solar Senior Electrical Superintendents plan, schedule, organize and direct the construction of major solar projects. They are responsible for all field execution of the project. Senior superintendents typically will have several Superintendents as direct reports. Senior Superintendents are responsible for coordinating the timely and cost-effective placement of the contracted work. They supervise directly or through subordinates all field construction work by the company's forces and by the Subcontractors. They are responsible for all pertinent Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.

• Journeyman or masters license (including NASCLA or other way to demonstrate proficiency in electrical best practices), or ability to obtain within 6 months after hire
• STS-C Certification at a minimum, or the ability to obtain within 6 months after hire
• Experience with multiple direct reports and an exceptional ability to lead and manage project teams is a necessity
