Job summary

Overland Contracting, Inc (OCI) and Black & Veatch are seeking a Shadow Solar Technician to assemble, install, or maintain PV systems on varied terrain and structures. You will work with site plans, schematics, and safety protocols to ensure quality installations.

This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety, and hands-on PV system construction across projects with potential 2027 hiring needs. Prior training in NCCER packages is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of experience or 0–1000 hours as a laborer or helper.
• Develop knowledge of assembly, installation, or maintenance of PV systems.
• Must have all necessary tools and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools and power tools to install PV systems per drawings and codes.
• Lay-out, assemble and install PV module support structures.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack systems and PV panels.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and adhere to safety processes.
• Participate in on-the-job training and mentoring.
• Produce quality work meeting plans and industry standards.
• Learn to read plans and interpret specifications.
• Assist with material storage and layout as needed.
• Communicate hazards and stop-work if necessary.
• Work with other crafts and crews on site.
