Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a Production Technician I to operate equipment in the middle submodule to finishing end of the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality photovoltaic modules are produced at the required rate.

The role includes preventative maintenance, basic quality checks, and interfacing with factory computer systems. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree or technical certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• External candidates: 1+ year manufacturing experience; warehousing, textile, agriculture, or material inspection may count as manufacturing experience.
• Internal candidates: 60 credits of internal manufacturing-related training and supervisor endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment and manage materials to manufacture solar modules.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic quality control procedures.
• Interface with equipment computers and monitor process data.
• Train and assist team members; communicate issues to supervision.
• Maintain inventory levels and proper waste disposal.
• Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Complete duties as assigned by team leads and supervisor.
