Job summary

Advanced Green Technologies (AGT) is seeking an experienced Solar Foreman to lead and support commercial solar installation projects. This hands-on field leadership role oversees crew performance, maintains safety and quality, and delivers projects on time while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

The Solar Leadman will manage crews up to 10 team members in foreman absences, providing technical expertise and coordinating daily operations to drive productivity across all projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a foreman position.
• 10+ years of electrical experience.
• 2+ years of Solar Installation experience preferred.
• NAPCEP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and keep a clean work area for installation of equipment.
• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, in line with specs and electrical codes.
• Install controls and distribution gear, such as switches, panel boards, disconnects and inverters.
• Analyze proper fastening system for equipment support.
• Terminate wiring and equipment as per code or job specification.
• Connect power cables to equipment such as Disconnects, Panel boards, Inverters, motors, and transformer per specs.
• Prepare sketches showing wiring/equipment locations from diagrams/blueprints.
• Test circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observe operation of installed equipment to identify hazards and necessary adjustments.
• Install solar-related components AC and DC per plan.
• Install solar modules and racking per plans.
• Manage teams when foreman is not onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and keeps clean work area for installation of equipment

• Connect power cables to equipment such as Disconnects, Panel boards, Inverters, motors, and transformer per manufacturer specs and permitted drawings.
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams/blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments such as Amp probe, clamp meter and voltage meter.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Installs all solar related components AC and DC electric per plan.
• Installs Solar modules and racking per plans
• Managing teams when foreman is not onsite

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required

Education

• High school or equivalent

Experience

• 5+ years in a Forman position
• 10+ years of electrical experience
• 2 years minimum experience with Solar Installation – preferred

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Successful Pre-Employment Drug
• Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall
• Ability to lift 100 LBS or more
• Successful Background Check
• NAPCEP Certified - preferred
• Must be able to lift 100IBS or more
• Statewide travel is required
• Proficient in English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Adaptable to new technologies and web‑based software systems
