Job Title: Solar Practice Manager

Location: Remote (Continental United States)

ICF’s Technical Advisory team is doing just that!

Role Description

Our work focuses on enabling the development of and investment in energy infrastructure. As a Solar Practice Manager within the Technical Advisory team, you will engage with clients and solve challenges related to solar energy projects' development, design, construction, operation, and analysis. You will join a motivated team of industry experts, delivering high-value technical diligence support and solutions to mitigate technical and commercial challenges. This role offers the opportunity to work across energy technologies and engage with clients and stakeholders in the evolving energy industry.

ICF provides comprehensive energy industry advisory services supporting strategic investments, portfolio management, operational planning, market developments, policy analyses, regulatory support, and customer engagement. You will utilize your experience in independent engineering and owner’s engineering advisory services to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams on utility-scale and commercial solar projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage teams on solar projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct subject matter expert reviews for PV solar projects.
  • Contribute to business development, thought leadership, and standards improvement.
  • Engage with clients and industry stakeholders regarding opportunities in the energy sector.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in PV solar technology and project management.
  • Experience managing teams and projects.
  • Knowledge of solar resource & performance modeling, construction, operations, and due diligence processes.
  • Experience with project contracts such as PPAs, interconnection, supply, and O&M contracts.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% within the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation.
  • 8+ years in the energy sector with PV solar project management experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Matlab.
  • Experience with additional renewable technologies (e.g., BESS).
  • Strong experience with PVsyst.
Skills and Attributes
  • Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong data management, research, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator of technical concepts.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.

Our pay range for this full-time role is $118,730 - $201,840, based on experience and qualifications.
