Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our San Jose, CA team. You will participate in design, development, testing, and production of next-generation space hardware, including solar power systems and fixtures.

You will collaborate across disciplines, perform analyses, create and release drawings, and provide hands-on manufacturing support to ensure program milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Must have or be pursuing a relevant engineering degree.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and develop hardware to meet evolving system and mission requirements; perform analyses and testing.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations, including design reviews and test readiness reviews.
• Create, revise, and release engineering drawings and manufacturing procedures.
• Provide hands-on support for production operations, including troubleshooting and guidance.
• Design, fabricate, and validate fixtures and tooling for manufacturing and assembly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and engineering.
