ACT Power Services in Fresno, CA, seeks a Portfolio Engineer to act as the technical liaison for our growing solar and storage O&M fleet. You will perform remote performance analysis, coordinate with plant managers and field operators, and deliver optimization recommendations to clients.

You will lead client calls, generate site reports for stakeholders, and develop procedures to keep facilities reliable across a wide range of sizes—from 500 kW to 200+ MW. Office-based with periodic site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, technology, or physics or an Associate with relevant training could count
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, or operating in power generation or industrial facilities
• Proficiency in VBA or Python and familiarity with SCADA/DAS systems

Responsibilities

• Performance analysis of solar and storage projects via remote DAS/SCADA systems.
• Serve as the main technical contact for plant managers, field operators, utilities, and clients.
• Prepare site performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead client calls and act as the client interface for technical issues.

ACT Power Service’s Portfolio Engineers are the technical liaisons of our O&M organization. This team of talented engineers provides oversight, management, technical support, and serves as our client interface for our rapidly growing operating fleet. This role requires a broad skill set and an ability to pivot from highly technical performance analysis and troubleshooting to maintenance support and planning to client presentations.

Each Portfolio Engineer will act as the main technical contact for assigned facilities that will range from 500kW to 200+MW in size. The Portfolio Engineer will lead internal and external meetings to discuss performance and optimization recommendations as well provide a variety of reports to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Performance analysis of solar and/or storage projects through remote DAS and SCADA systems.
• Provide a central point of contact and support for plant managers, field operators, utilities, and external clients regarding performance, control, and maintenance schedules.
• Site performance reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead client calls and serve as client interface for technical issues
• Root cause analysis and performance improvement recommendations of underperforming systems.
• Develop procedures and tools necessary for the efficient operation of a diverse fleet of solar and storage facilities
• Develop tools and process to optimize organizational performance

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in technical field of study such as engineering, technology, or physics. An Associate degree with professional training or certifications may be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and/or operation in a power generation facility or other industrial facilities
• Experience with programing in VBA, Python, or equivalent
• Experience with electrical maintenance, including PV technology, DC systems, AC systems, and network communications and monitoring.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• Employees must be able to maintain unescorted access to NERC regulated facilities
• Work is to be primarily performed in an office environment. However, all personnel are expected to occasionally perform site visits for training and technical support.
