Job summary

ACT Power Services in Charlotte, NC, seeks Portfolio Engineer to be the technical liaison for our O&M fleet, overseeing performance analysis from 500kW to 200+MW facilities, coordinating with plant managers, operators, utilities, and clients.

You will lead internal and client meetings, deliver performance reports, diagnose root causes of underperformance, and develop procedures and tools to optimize a diverse solar and storage fleet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in technical field; Associate degree with professional training may be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.
  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and/or operation in a power generation facility or other industrial facilities
  • Experience with programming in VBA, Python, or equivalent
  • Experience with electrical maintenance, including PV technology, DC/AC systems, and network communications and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Employees must be able to maintain unescorted access to NERC regulated facilities
  • Work is primarily in an office environment with occasional site visits for training and technical support

  • Provide a central point of contact and support for plant managers, field operators, utilities, and external clients regarding performance, control, and maintenance schedules.
  • Site performance reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead client calls and serve as client interface for technical issues
  • Root cause analysis and performance improvement recommendations of underperforming systems.
  • Develop procedures and tools necessary for the efficient operation of a diverse fleet of solar and storage facilities
  • Develop tools and process to optimize organizational performance

ACT Power Service’s Portfolio Engineers are the technical liaisons of our O&M organization. This team of talented engineers provides oversight, management, technical support, and serves as our client interface for our rapidly growing operating fleet. This role requires a broad skill set and an ability to pivot from highly technical performance analysis and troubleshooting to maintenance support and planning to client presentations.

Each Portfolio Engineer will act as the main technical contact for assigned facilities that will range from 500kW to 200+MW in size. The Portfolio Engineer will lead internal and external meetings to discuss performance and optimization recommendations as well provide a variety of reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
