GameChange Solar seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and test components for solar energy systems, creating mechanical drawings and validating performance on-site and in the lab. You will collaborate with project managers and field teams to optimize cost and reliability.

The role requires strong CAD skills, field testing ability, and a hands-on approach. Travel to various sites may be required; a valid driver's license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Blueprint reading proficiency.
• CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
• MS Office proficiency.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• U.S. driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop design specifications and functional requirements for testing solar energy systems and their components.
• Evaluate specifications, recommend engineering changes to meet goals.
• Create mechanical diagrams and connection diagrams for solar structural systems using CAD.
• This position involves outdoor/indoor work; comfortable in all weather.
• Comply with OSHA, state and federal codes, and safety procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop SOPs and safety standards for installation and testing processes.
• Create reports of testing findings and performance analyses.
• Perform various types of testing to improve cost, producibility, and installability.
• Assist management to allocate resources and meet deadlines.
• Travel to other sites within driving distance as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
