Job summary

Wood Mackenzie’s Americas Power and Renewables team seeks a Research Analyst focused on distributed solar markets. You will blend proprietary data with market models to analyze trends, competition, and policy impacts for clients across the solar landscape.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in solar or renewable energy, strong data handling skills (Python/SQL preferred) and the ability to distill complex ideas into clear reports.

Qualifications

• Proven analytical capabilities – both qualitative and quantitative – and comfort with writing market analysis.
• 2+ years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industries.
• Experience with data management; Python and SQL are preferred but not required.
• Excellent problem solving, documentation, communication and organization skills.
• Engaging and capable of presenting to executives and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist leadership in expanding coverage of the Americas distributed solar markets.
• Identify and acquire qualitative and quantitative data sources on Americas solar markets.
• Write research reports on trends, vendors and strategies across the solar landscape.
• Present to clients and industry stakeholders at trade shows, conferences, and events.
• Collaborate with peers to support research reports, conferences, and editorial coverage.
• Work with sales and marketing to generate new revenue and market research opportunities.
• Consult with clients to apply Wood Mackenzie solar research to their business context.
