Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Field Service Technician in Warrenton, GA for a full-time role focused on safe, productive maintenance of commercial and utility-scale solar PV plants. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production and reliability.

The position covers maintenance of solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters, with a strong emphasis on safety and learning the NEC code and electrical theory. Overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency using power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Willingness to travel and be on-call during off-shift hours.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar facilities.
• Learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• Perform DC and AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation resistance, and I–V tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain schedules for routine maintenance and repair of equipment at solar facilities.
• Maintain company property, tools, meters, and spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take action to mitigate hazards.
