GRID Alternatives is seeking a Solar Installer to join the construction team in Sacramento, CA. This role supports solar PV installations and works with the crew to ensure projects meet safety and quality expectations.

The position emphasizes teamwork, hands-on installation tasks, and customer-facing interactions. The ideal candidate thrives in outdoor environments, holds a valid driver’s license, and is enthusiastic about renewable energy and helping income-qualified communities.

Qualifications

Proven ability to assist solar installations safely.
Comfortable working on roofs and in outdoor environments.
Capable of multi-tasking and following safety standards.
Willing to travel up to 25% if needed.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist construction staff to complete solar installations.
Assist in roof & ground crew duties including racking, conduit installation, and balance of system installation.
Ensure installations comply with GRID Alternatives safety and quality standards.
Assist with staging, loading, and unloading equipment and parts.
Conduct site visits to screen potential sites for solar access and safety issues.
Assist with service calls.
Answer homeowner and volunteer questions and participate in activities to make solar happen for income-qualified communities.
Treat clients, contractors, and coworkers with kindness and respect.
Comply with all company policies, including safety.
