Cal-Solar in Grass Valley is seeking a Solar Installer to join our growing team. This full-time role involves installing solar PV systems, mounting racking, and wiring components on residential and commercial sites while following design plans and local codes.

Qualifications

• Comfortably able to lift 75 lbs and work on rooftops
• Full-time position based in Grass Valley, CA
• Travel may be required
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Clean driving record
• Desire to learn the electrical trade
• Commitment to safety and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Install residential and/or commercial solar PV systems according to design plans and local codes
• Mount racking systems on rooftops or ground-mounted structures
• Secure and install solar panels, inverters, and related hardware
• Perform basic electrical wiring, conduit bending, and connections (DC/AC)
• Assist with system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout plans
• Ensure installations meet safety, quality, and performance standards
• Follow OSHA and company safety protocols, including fall protection
• Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively
• Communicate with crew leads, electricians, and project managers
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Load, transport, and handle materials and equipment
• Identify and report installation issues or site concerns
• Participate in ongoing training and certification as required
