Job summary

Palmetto in Phoenix is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to provide onsite troubleshooting and repair of residential solar and storage systems, ensuring peak performance from Day 1 of operation.

You'll work with the Services team across installation, job closeout, permitting, and inspections, acting as the key field representative to deliver high-quality service and lasting customer relationships. Applicants should be physically able to climb, lift, and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential solar & storage systems.
• Experience with home maintenance; capable of addressing issues beyond solar system scope.
• General construction/framing experience is a plus.
• Electrical License (only required in MA, a plus elsewhere).
• Willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, rooftops and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, rain, etc.).
• Electrical experience is a plus.
• 1 year of working at heights (rooftops, ladders).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Safely handle and maintain basic hand and power tools.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Attention to detail.
• Regular, reliable attendance.
• Work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite troubleshooting and repair of solar systems.
• Document visit and complete job close out report.
• Schedule site visits directly with the customer when required.
• Work with local field teams and central scheduling to optimize resolution times.
• Provide feedback to field leadership to improve installation quality.
• Assist with close out of pre-energization issues to ensure power from Day 1.
• Provide feedback to Customer Experience to deliver a high-quality experience.
• Complete other tasks including site surveys, inspections, and document collection.
• Be the key Palmetto field representative to deliver quality, experience and performance.
• Communicate arrival times and confirmations with homeowners as needed.
