Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical training is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in mechanical/electrical environments via training or work.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to identify and perform Lock Out/Tag Out on energized parts/systems.
  • Basic understanding of solar installations/plants and testing equipment.
  • Strong computer basics and ability to follow instructions.
  • NFPA 70e Safety Training certification is required and current.
  • Must be able to work at remote sites in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety as the core responsibility and enforce safe practices.
  • Work safely under supervision and ask for guidance as needed.
  • Operate and care for company equipment and tooling.
  • Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
  • Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
  • Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
  • Respond on-call as directed for emergency repairs.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation of work performed.
  • Assist in process improvements and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with EPC management on implementation.

Job Description Summary:

The Solar Field Service Technician, Level 1 will perform field maintenance and learn to follow safe work practices of the solar industry.

This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Tucson, AZ. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Stresses the importance that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working
  • Work safely under all circumstances, seek guidanceregardingunfamiliar work to ensure safety and understanding of tasks to be performed.
  • Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
  • Service solar equipment in multiple solar plants under supervision
  • Perform basic solar equipment testing,troubleshootingand maintenance tasks under supervision andutilizingmonitoring programs.
  • Replace or repair solar parts and/or equipment under supervision.
  • Respond “on‐call” as directed by supervisor toassistin emergency equipment repairs.
  • Prepareaccuratedocumentation andrequiredreports of work performed
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned
  • Assessing and suggest improved processes, collaborate onnew technologies, and coordinate with EPC managementregardingthe implementation of these improvements

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent, Vocational/Technical School training a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment achieved through formal training orpreviouswork experience.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability toidentifyand perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding ofa solarinstallation/plant.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of testing equipment
  • Basic computer operation skills
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification
  • Remain current in all safety and technicaltrainings.
  • Effective verbal and written English language communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)
  • Ability to work on an “on call” basis (may include weekends or after-hours situations)
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory drivingrecordand ability tooperatecompanyvehicle.
  • Able totravel(up to 10%) fortraining, certifications, and site coverage.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
  • Occasional exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals
  • Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
  • Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, andpossessdepthperception.
  • Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high, exposed, or difficult to access places.
  • The noise intensity level may be high.
