Job summary

SunPower is seeking an Entry Level Field Operations Technician in Pennsylvania to execute daily field events, coordinate with inspectors, and complete work orders for minor corrections. You will engage with customers, support scheduling questions, and document work accurately while meeting safety requirements.

You will handle up to 5 events per day, perform equipment checks, and ensure quality within timelines, reporting site issues and coordinating with the office team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in solar, construction, electrical work, field service, or related technical fields is preferred.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to complete multiple field events per day and maintain productivity standards.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and office staff.
  • Strong attention to detail to prevent inspection failures and ensure site readiness.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working on rooftops (if required by company).

  • Ensure that all assigned field tasks meet quality standards and are completed within expected timeframes

  • Accurately document all work performed, including photos, notes, and required forms

  • Work closely with corporate office representatives, schedulers, and project managers to coordinate event timing, updates, and required documentation
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policies while performing field work

Position Summary

The Field Operations Technician (FOT) is an entry-level position responsible for completing all events assigned to them each day. This role is tasked with acquiring and delivering approved plans sets from jurisdiction buildings, coordinating times and meeting with inspectors, and completing work orders for minor corrections, repairs, and other small tasks. Additionally, the FOT communicates with customers to assess needs and issues, coordinates with corporate office representatives for feedback and scheduling questions, and ensures that all assigned work is completed and documented accurately and efficiently.

FOTs are expected to be able to handle up to 5 events per day and should not have more than 2 inspection failures attributed solely to their actions (or lack thereof) in any 3 month period. FOTs should be able to complete the work and meet the requirements as listed below.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
