Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Industrialized Equipment Specialist to join the Solar group in Fridley, MN. You will lead the build, deployment, readiness and continuous improvement of specialized construction equipment, coordinating from planning through completion and ensuring thorough documentation and safe operation.

This role requires strong cross-functional coordination, hands-on equipment knowledge, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 1+ years of construction equipment, manufacturing, fabrication, fleet operations, procurement, or related professional experience, or 2+ years of equivalent relevant experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience coordinating equipment builds, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, or field deployment.
• Ability to maintain controlled technical documentation, including drawings, bills of material, specifications, parts lists, equipment configurations, manuals, service records, and change history.
• Working knowledge of purchasing, material planning, inventory, supplier coordination, purchase orders, billing, rental, maintenance, repair, and service processes.
• Ability to read and apply basic mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, controls, or equipment service information and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new specialized equipment builds from planning through completion, serving as the central point of coordination among leads, technicians, and suppliers.
• Maintain design, build, and configuration documentation including drawings, BOMs, specs, manuals, and change records.
• Plan material requirements; source and order parts; create POs; monitor lead times; resolve shortages blocking builds.
• Develop and maintain build plans, schedules, QA checks, and completion records; coordinate fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and project teams to resolve build issues and ensure safety and readiness for field use.
• Gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities; coordinate equipment modifications and future designs.
• Support demonstrations, pilots, field validation, startup, training, and deployment activities as applicable.
• Maintain fleet and inventory records including asset location, condition, and deployment history.
• Coordinate forecasting, allocation, mobilization, transfers, demobilization, and project readiness.
• Coordinate inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, recalls, warranties, and vendor support.
