Job summary

Pure Power, located in the Kansas City area, is seeking an engineering student for a hands-on internship to design commercial PV systems from 100 kW up to 20 MW starting in June 2027. You will collaborate on electrical and structural drawings and support interconnection and permitting processes in a fast-growing solar engineering environment.

The role requires a BS in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related discipline), 1+ year(s) of AutoCAD experience, and prior building-design

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 1+ years’ experience with AutoCAD.
• Previous internship in traditional building design with an MEP firm.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems from 100 kW to 20 MW.
• Integrate energy storage into PV systems.
• Develop construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Prepare specifications, gather data, and complete interconnection and permitting applications.
• Travel to project sites to collect site data as needed.
• Perform site-specific production analysis of PV arrays using PVsyst or similar models.
