Job summary

Advanced Roofing is seeking an experienced solar electrical installer to support design, procurement, and construction of solar energy projects in Florida and nearby markets.

You will install solar modules, racking, wiring, and control gear, follow plans and electrical codes, climb ladders up to 60 ft, lift 100 lbs, and travel statewide as required. A high school diploma or GED and apprenticeship training are preferred, with 3+ years in related installation work.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or GED is required.
  • Vocational School or approved apprenticeship training is preferred.
  • State-wide travel is required and valid driverb9s license is needed.
  • Pre-employment drug and agility tests are required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and keep clean work area for installation of equipment.
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials and follow local electrical codes.
  • Install controls and distribution gear: switches, panel boards, disconnects, inverters.
  • Analyze proper fastening system for equipment support and terminate wiring per code.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and follow manufacturer specs.
  • Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints for wiring locations.
  • Test continuity of circuits for safety and compatibility.
  • Observe equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments.
  • Install solar-related components (AC/DC) per plan and install solar modules and racking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and keeps clean work area for installation of equipment
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Installs controls and distribution gear, such as switches, panel boards, disconnects and Inverters
  • Analyze proper fastening system for equipment support
  • Terminate wiring and equipment as per code or job specification
  • Connect power cables to equipment such as Disconnects, Panel boards, Inverters, motors, and transformer per manufacturer specs and permitted drawings.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams/blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments such as Amp probe, clamp meter and voltage meter.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Installs all solar related components AC and DC electric per plan.
  • Installs Solar modules and racking per plans

Education
  • High School Degree or GED
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Vocational School or approved apprenticeship training
Skills & Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Successful Pre-Employment Drug and Agility tests
  • Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall
  • Ability to lift 100 LBS or more
  • Successful Background Check
  • State-wide travel required
