Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and support on large utility solar projects across multiple states, requiring substantial field travel.

You will oversee electrical installation quality, assist with schedules, liaise with engineers and contractors, and mentor field staff; a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and MV cable experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with medium-voltage equipment and cable installation.
• Experience supporting large self-perform projects.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of medium-voltage cables.
• Knowledge of testing methods: Hi-pot, current injection, capacitance discharge, Megger, Doble, etc.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, underground ducts, and distribution/collection systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality installation of electrical portions of the project, including underground collection system.
• Support drawing reviews, submittals, and feedback with engineering, ensuring materials and workmanship meet contract specs.
• Develop project schedules with Superintendents and create 3-week look-ahead plans.
• Provide resources and support to work teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of subcontracted work on each project.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and supervise subcontractor crews.
• Produce reports and operation procedures for equipment energization and commissioning.
