Job summary

New Leaf Energy in Lowell/Boston seeks a Design Engineer I to design, review and entitle designs for solar PV projects ranging 3MW to 300MW. You will join a team of design, civil and project engineers, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities include feasibility analysis, design of site use permit plans, training of new staff, and supporting permitting and bidding. Qualifications include a BS, 1–3 years’ experience, NABCEP credits preferred, and proficiency with AutoCAD, PV Case and

Qualifications

• B.S. degree required.
• 1–3 years’ experience preferred.
• Completion of at least 40 NABCEP credits preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate design concepts to internal New Leaf Energy stakeholders.
• Computer proficiency with AutoCAD, PV Case, PVSyst.

Responsibilities

• Work with the design team in evaluating feasibility analyses on potential sites.
• Collaborate with project design, electrical, and civil engineering teams for permitting drawings.
• Design projects according to New Leaf Energy standards and train others.
• Complete the review process for each job through milestone drawing releases.
• Participate in continuous improvement, especially training materials.
• Handle permitting and bidding administration and advise on design/production modeling considerations.
• Contribute to infrastructure design and offer new perspectives; initiative encouraged.
• Other duties as assigned.
