GreenSpark Solar in Rochester, NY is seeking a Design Engineer to develop ground-mounted solar PV projects and adapt designs to site conditions. You will assess ground conditions, evaluate civil issues from site data, and guide projects through permitting and approvals with a multidisciplinary team.

This is a locally-based role for the Rochester region. The position requires 3+ years in Electrical Engineering or Solar design, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD; NABCEP

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or Solar design preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or related field preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; PVSyst or PVCase preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC and International Fire Code.
• Ability to generate detailed construction drawings using modeling software.
• NABCEP PV Installation Professional preferred.
• Excellent time management with ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Confirm preliminary site data supplied by sales staff.
• Conduct site audits using drone imagery to collect data for PV designs.
• Perform shade analysis and energy production modeling with PV tools.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IBC, and local codes.
• Create electrical single-line and three-line diagrams for PV systems.
• Create CAD drawing sets for ground-mounted arrays.
• Navigate utility interconnection issues.
• Provide technical direction to installation teams.
• Update SOPs, QC metrics, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
