A top-tier engineering and consulting firm in the renewable energy industry is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to support the design and development of large-scale solar PV systems across the country. With a strong focus on utility-scale and energy storage projects, this company combines deep technical expertise with a mission-driven approach to accelerating the clean energy transition.

The Solar Civil Engineer will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive site design packages for solar projects from early feasibility through construction. This individual will lead efforts in grading, drainage, and erosion control design, ensuring code compliance and constructability. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to long-term process improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Design and draft complete civil engineering plan sets, including grading, drainage, and erosion control details
• Develop site-based maps and incorporate survey, geotechnical, and environmental data into project layouts
• Interpret zoning and permitting requirements and ensure compliance across all designs
• Prepare SWPPPs and hydrology reports to meet jurisdictional standards
• Coordinate field survey activities and provide construction-phase support
• Mentor junior engineering staff and assist in developing internal standards and templates
• Stay up to date on relevant codes, permitting procedures, and best practices for utility-scale solar development

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of civil site design experience, ideally including renewable energy or land development
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Experience with solar or renewable energy projects highly desirable
• Salary Range: $90-120K + Bonus
