Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a CAD Designer II (Energy) to design electrical site layouts and diagrams for solar PV/BESS projects ranging from small to large scale, from proposal to as-built.

You will work with engineers and CAD operators to deliver accurate drawings and coordinate with civil and structural teams. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in electrical design, a BS in engineering preferred, and advanced AutoCAD skills; PVsyst is a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years designing for an electrical design firm or design-build electrical contractor.
• Solar electrical systems background.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and drafting tasks assigned by Designers or Engineers.
• Prepare construction drawings including equipment layouts, site plans, and electrical diagrams.
• Independently produce and manage site layouts from proposal to as-built.
• Coordinate with civil and structural consultants for layout development.
• Follow QAQC processes through design and construction phases.
