Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) seeks a CAD Designer II (Energy) to support our Engineering Team on solar PV/BESS projects in San Jose, California. You will design construction drawings, equipment layouts, site plans, and electrical diagrams, coordinating with civil and structural consultants.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in electrical design, advanced AutoCAD skills, meticulous file management, and strong communication. A BS in Engineering is preferred; PVsyst is a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years designing for electrical design firms or contractors.
• Solar PV/BESS projects experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and drafting tasks assigned by Designers or Engineers.
• Create construction drawings including equipment layouts, site plans, and electrical diagrams.
• Independently produce and manage site layouts from proposal to as-built.
• Coordinate with civil and structural consultants to gather required information.
• Assemble design drawings and deliverables and coordinate delivery.
• Provide engineering support through design and construction phases.
• Follow QAQC processes through design and construction phases.
