Job summary

AES US is seeking a Solar Technician I to support O&M activities at the Bellefield Solar project in Mojave, CA. The role requires self-motivation, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to lead and train field staff.

The ideal candidate will live in the Lancaster/Mojave Tehachapi area or be willing to relocate. The position offers an hourly wage with benefits, including medical and 401(k) options, plus occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems and familiarity with basic safety principles (LOTO, Electrical Safety).
• Proficiency with PCs and standard business software; familiarity with SCADA/CMMS is a plus.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Perform/assist preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for solar assets and associated equipment.
• Prepare switching and clearance orders; operate power plant systems safely.
• Support training, documentation, and adherence to environmental and safety requirements.
