Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators in West Chester, PA.

The role targets an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Understand NEC/AHJ and utility interconnection requirements.
• Able to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance: cleaning panels, wiring inspections, inverter testing, battery health checks.
• Commission new systems and upgrades per NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Use diagnostic tools like multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging.
• Maintain accurate service records and photos.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty repairs as needed.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners about system status and recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
